[Interview 1] Shin Min-a: "Kim Woo-bin, Who Came to the Premiere and Took My Photos, Wasn't Asked to Do It Forcefully" ('Beautiful Eyes')

[Sportschosun Jo Ji-young] Actress Shin Min-a (42) said, "My husband Kim Woo-bin, who came to the 'Beautiful Eyes' premiere and took my photos, was not asked to do it forcefully."

Shin Min-a played a dual role in the suspense thriller Beautiful Eyes, directed by Yeom Ji-ho and produced by Dream Capture. She portrayed Seo-jin, a photographer who uncovers the death of her twin sister while losing her sight, and Seoin, Seo-jin's twin sister who meets a mysterious death. On the morning of the 16th, she met with Sportschosun in Samcheong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul, and spoke about her thoughts on the film's release.

Shin Min-a said, "It has been a long time since my last film release, so I was very nervous and curious. Many people watched the movie after yesterday's premiere, and it seemed like everyone enjoyed it. The atmosphere was also one of celebration, so I felt good."

She added with a laugh, "I had already watched this film so many times before the screening that I lost my objectivity. From my perspective, I kept noticing things I felt were lacking in my acting and other areas, so I couldn't fully focus on the movie as a whole."

She also mentioned the strong support from her husband, Kim Woo-bin. After their marriage in December last year, Kim Woo-bin attended the VIP screening of Beautiful Eyes on the 15th to cheer on Shin Min-a. Regarding this, Shin Min-a said, "Actually, Beautiful Eyes was filmed before we got married, so I didn't really think of it as my first project after marriage. Kim Woo-bin came to the premiere yesterday too, and although it felt very awkward, I was grateful and reassured. In fact, I asked him to come to the Beautiful Eyes premiere and told him he had to come. He made time to visit despite being busy filming his next project so that he could keep my request. He also left photos and videos of me on his personal account yesterday, but that part was not something I forced him to do. After watching the film yesterday, Kim Woo-bin said he enjoyed it and knew how much I had struggled and worried about this project, so he briefly encouraged me by saying I didn't need to worry. Then he said that and went back to filming. I was also busy these days, so it had been a while since I saw Kim Woo-bin," she said with a smile.

Beautiful Eyes tells the story of a protagonist who is gradually losing her sight due to a hereditary disease and uncovers the truth behind the suspicious death of her twin sister. The film stars Shin Min-a, Kim Nam-hee, Lee Seung-ryong, and Kim Young-ah, and was directed by Yeom Ji-ho of The Neighbor. It will be released on the 24th.
