Alien Silhouette Revealed in HOPE Poster, Capturing the Tension of Hwang Jung-min, Jo In-sung and Hoyeon Jung

[Sportschosun Jo Ji-young] The SF thriller HOPE, directed by Na Hong-jin and produced by Forged Films, has unveiled its main poster, which carries a powerful aura.

The newly released main poster for HOPE is set against a dark forest packed so densely with trees that it is hard to judge its depth. It captures a tense moment as three people hold guns and watch for something approaching.

Beom-seok, the Hopo Port Branch Office chief played by Hwang Jung-min, and Sung-gi, the village youth played by Jo In-sung, wear wary expressions that command attention and make viewers wonder what will happen to them. Seong-ae, the police officer played by Hoyeon Jung, points her gun calmly with an unwavering gaze, and her strong energy and presence raise expectations for the chemistry among the three characters.

The silhouette of an alien appearing above the three characters hints at the start of an incident whose true nature cannot yet be grasped, further heightening curiosity about HOPE. The dense forest shown in the main poster was filmed in Romania's Retezat National Park, one of the movie's key locations. The area combines untouched nature with raw vitality, adding to anticipation for the film's distinctive mise-en-scène.

HOPE has confirmed releases in special-format theaters including Dolby Cinema, Dolby Atmos, ScreenX and 4DX. In Dolby Cinema, the vivid colors delivered by Dolby Vision and the rich sound of Dolby Atmos are expected to offer a cinematic experience unlike any before. Dolby Atmos theaters are also expected to deepen audience immersion with spacious, enveloping sound. Through ScreenX and 4DX screenings, the film will present viewers with overwhelming immersion and tension across three screens to the left, right and front.

HOPE tells the story of the Hopo Port Branch Office chief in the Demilitarized Zone who hears from local young people that a tiger has appeared, and then faces an unbelievable reality as the entire village goes on alert. The film stars Hwang Jung-min, Jo In-sung, Hoyeon Jung, Taylor Russell, Cameron Britton, Alicia Vikander and Michael Fassbender, and is directed by Na Hong-jin, known for The Chaser, The Yellow Sea and The Wailing. It will be released on July 15.
