Choi Min-hwan Cleared of Prostitution and Harassment Charges

While FTIsland Choi Min-hwan was accused of prostitution and forced harassment of his ex-wife Yul-hee, the police decided not to send the charges.

The Gangnam Police Station in Seoul said on the 29th that it decided not to send Choi Min-hwan because it judged that there was insufficient evidence to prove criminal charges in the case of accusations such as the Sex Trafficking Punishment Act and forced harassment charges.

Earlier, Yul-hee, a former member of the girl group La Boom, revealed the alleged prostitution of her ex-husband Choi Min-hwan through her YouTube channel.

Yulhee claimed in October that Choi Min-hwan had been in and out of business during his marriage, which had a decisive impact on the divorce. In addition, the transcript of Choi Min-hwan's phone call, which is suspected of prostitution, was released, making the impact even greater. Choi Min-hwan said with a man "There's no lady here today","Is there a hotel I can go to now. Motel is also good. We had conversations such as "I secretly came out, so please make a reservation for me.""

Yulhee also touched my body in front of my family, or put money in my heart because I was drunkThe revelation that " was also shocking.

In response, an accuser filed a complaint against Choi Min-hwan, claiming that touching his wife Yul-hee's chest or major part while her family was together does not correspond to the right to sexual self-determination and is judged to be a criminal constituent requirement for forced harassment. The police launched an investigation last month but decided not to send it.

Meanwhile, Choi Min-hwan dropped out of KBS2's parenting entertainment show 「Shudol」, which he was appearing in, and the related video was deleted. FT Island will operate as a two-person system for the time being. Currently, Yulhee is suing her ex-husband Choi Min-hwan for the return of custody and alimony for the division of her property.
