[Sportschosun, Reporter Kim Jun-seok] Former South Korea national football team goalkeeper Kim Young-kwang shared the frightening injury he suffered during his playing days and expressed gratitude to his wife.
On the 17th, the YouTube channel 'Cheongjamansion' released content analyzing a South Korea national football team match.
The episode featured actor Kim Soo-ro and former national team goalkeeper Kim Young-kwang, who talked about a wide range of stories from his football career.
During the show, Kim Young-kwang recalled a serious injury he suffered as a player.
He said, "I once suffered a major injury to my temple during a match," and added, "I underwent surgery and received 108 stitches," surprising viewers.
Kim Soo-ro then joked, "Since Young-kwang has had a Christian upbringing, maybe they added one more stitch for meaning, making it 109," drawing laughter.
It was an accident that could have left a large scar on his face, but there is now little trace of it on Kim Young-kwang's face.
Kim Young-kwang credited his wife for that.
He said, "My wife works in skin care," and "She took great care of the scar after the surgery."
He added, "Thanks to her careful care, I have recovered so well that it is now barely noticeable," expressing his gratitude to his wife.
Kim Young-kwang married doctor Kim Eun-ji in 2010, and the couple has two daughters.
Meanwhile, the broadcast also shared stories about Kim Soo-ro's experience as the owner of a club in England's 13th division, along with various topics related to the South Korea national football team.
