[Sportschosun reporter Jo Min-jung] Comedian Kim Won-hoon opened up about his honest feelings on appearing on "Hangout with Yoo."
On the MBC variety show "Hangout with Yoo," which aired on the 20th, Yoo Jae-suk, Haha, Huh Kyung-hwan, and Joo Woo-jae were shown holding interviews to find singers for the OST of Season 2 of the short-form drama.
That day, Kim Won-hoon appeared as his alter ego, Obong-sik, and stood out with a strong presence. However, despite his various impersonations and setups, he failed to draw the kind of reaction the cast had expected. As the mood did not go as planned, Kim suddenly brought up the worst-case scenario in his imagination.
He said, "The really provocative version would be this: Kim Won-hoon chooses 'Hangout with Yoo,' but gets cut from 'Pyeonstorang' and also gets cut from 'Hangout with Yoo.'" His remark sent the set into laughter. He then joked, "'Hangout with Yoo' is nice. It really puts people through the wringer," showing his nervousness.
He also confessed, "When Seon-min and Senior Beom appeared on 'Hangout with Yoo,' I was so jealous. I thought I could really do a role like that well too." But he added, "Once I actually tried it for about 30 minutes, it wasn't easy," and said, "Even the name was a hurdle. The writer said it was funny, but no one laughed," expressing disappointment.
The cast burst into laughter at Kim Won-hoon's candid complaints, and viewers also reacted with comments such as, "It's so honest that it's funny," "Classic self-deprecating Kim Won-hoon," and "You can really feel his ambition for variety shows."
Meanwhile, after winning widespread love through the YouTube channel "Shortbox," Kim Won-hoon has expanded his broadcasting career and is active across a range of variety shows.
