Kim Na-young, Dating MyQ, Opens Up About Parenting Struggles With Two Sons: "It’s Hard When They Ignore Me"

[Sportschosun Jo Yoon-sun] Kim Na-young opened up about her parenting concerns.

On the 21st, a video titled "A Day in the Life of Mom Kim Na-young, Who Has No Time to Rest from Dawn to Night" was uploaded to the YouTube channel "Kim Nayoung's nofilterTV."

In the video, Kim Na-young dropped off her two sons at school, wrapped up a busy schedule, and then ate lunch alone at home while sharing her worries about parenting.

She said, "I feel like parenting has entered a new phase. New kinds of difficulties have come up. The kids kind of ignore me, and that’s really hard."

She added, "They try to one-up me. And when they lose to me, they get really angry and take all their frustration and irritation out on me. That’s what I’m worried about." She continued, "I also find myself wondering whether, if they grow up like this, they’ll end up disrespecting me too much later on."

Kim Na-young also said she was moved to tears after looking at a photo taken with her son seven years ago.

She said, "Even though I was wearing bright clothes in the photo, I looked so worn out. I was seven years younger, but I should have looked more energetic than I do now. Instead, I could feel the weight of life pressing down on me. Thinking back on those days really got to me." Her eyes welled up as she spoke.

She went on, "There were so many nights when I fell asleep after crying, so my eyes were always swollen in the morning and always full of tears." She recalled, "I wanted to hold my seven-years-younger self tightly. Back then, I was really just barely getting by and working hard."

Meanwhile, Kim Na-young has been raising her two sons on her own since her divorce in 2019. Last year, she remarried after four years of dating singer and painter MyQ.
