[Sportschosun Kim Jun-seok] TV personality Ji Yeon-su shared her honest feelings about news that her ex-husband, Eli of U-KISS, has remarried. She said her first concern was not her own emotions, but her son Min-su's feelings.
On the 22nd, a video titled "What do I think about remarrying...? Ji Yeon-su's honest feelings" was released on the YouTube channel "Yeonsurobda."
That day, Ji Yeon-su said about the recently reported remarriage of Eli, "I actually knew he was getting married. I just didn't know when."
She added, "My biggest worry was thinking that Min-su had to go to school the next day." She continued, "Some parents know who Min-su's father is, and I was most worried that he might hear about it and get hurt."
Ji Yeon-su said she thought about her son's situation before her own feelings.
She said, "I took care of Min-su and put him to bed before I really looked at the article." She added, "I was actually calm. The people around me were more anxious, wondering whether they should talk about it or not."
She went on to say, "He is still in his 30s. He is at an age where he can remarry, have children, and live his own life." She added, "I already found happiness with Min-su and me as a family of two. I think he is simply reaching his own happiness a little later than I did."
She also said, "If he has already made that decision, I hope everything goes well and that he is happy," showing support for her ex-husband's new beginning.
She also revealed that her son Min-su knows about his father's remarriage. Ji Yeon-su said calmly, "Min-su knows too. We congratulated him."
She also expressed regret over the attention her son had to endure because of her past TV appearances. Ji Yeon-su explained, "Choosing to appear on television was an adult decision. It was not Min-su's choice." She added, "Min-su has never watched that program. I still haven't shown it to him."
She continued, "People only see Min-su's image on TV and think he is a very kind and mature child, but in fact he is just a normal kid who jokes around and throws tantrums like other children his age." She said, "That kind of attention could become a burden for him."
She also spoke honestly about remarriage. Ji Yeon-su said, "It's not that I have no thoughts about remarrying. I guess I will someday." She added, "Eli was the last man I dated, married, and divorced. Since then, I haven't exchanged contact information with a single person."
She went on, "After the divorce, I only thought about living as Min-su's mother." She added, "I had neither the time nor the room in my life to meet someone new or date."
When asked, "Why not just meet a wealthy man?" she laughed and replied, "Why would a wealthy man want to meet me?" She also drew laughter by saying her ideal type is "a man who has completed military service, graduated from high school, and doesn't drink."
Meanwhile, Ji Yeon-su also shared encouraging news about Min-su. She said, "Min-su received an encouragement award at a science imagination presentation contest." She added, "It was his first award since starting school, so I was really happy."
