[Sportschosun Kim So-hee] Comedian Yang Sang-guk formed a group called 'Six Can Do It' with Shim Soo-chang, Kim Hyung-joon, Yoo Il-han, Hong Kyung-joon, Shim Jae-won, and Seo Nam-yong.
On the TV Chosun reality-style documentary variety show 'Love of Joseon,' which aired on Monday the 22nd, Yang Sang-guk, who was shocked by a marriage agency's 'Level 6' diagnosis in the previous episode, held auditions to gather fellow Level 6 members who are serious about marriage and form the 'Level 6 Club.' The selection criteria were strict, covering everything from education and housing to asset size, whether colon polyps were found during a colonoscopy, parents' wealth, the number of past relationships, and even embarrassing past episodes. Yang introduced the event by saying, "Of all the auditions in the world, this is one where it would be good to fail," drawing big laughs from the start.
At the audition, Shim Soo-chang, a former baseball player and handsome broadcaster who divorced last year, was the first to put on a contestant name tag. He was followed by Kim Hyung-joon, a former SS501 idol; actor Yoo Il-han, known as Hwang Bo-ra's male friend; Seo Young-woo, a former bobsleigh silver medalist; comedian Hong Kyung-joon, who runs a bakery; and actor Shim Jae-won, the biological nephew of actress Shim Hye-jin.
For the first round, actor Yoo Il-han, known as Hwang Bo-ra's male friend, appeared and confessed the harsh reality of being a lead actor in a small theater. He also caused a stir in the studio by revealing the story behind his one-sided romance with Hwang Bo-ra in the past. When Yoo said, "I never even confessed," Hwang Bo-ra snapped back, "Everyone in Daehak-ro knew about it. They said Yoo Il-han liked Hwang Bo-ra!" He also admitted to having undergone hemorrhoid surgery twice. Jeong Yi-rang shook her head and said, "They're saying all kinds of things just to get into Level 6."
Shim Soo-chang, the second contestant, showed how desperate he was to remarry by writing in his application that he needed a follow-up because Yang Sang-guk had officiated at his first wedding. Aside from his divorce history and colon polyps, however, he had strong credentials, including his parents owning their home, so he was expected to rank highly. Shim, who said he now lives in a studio apartment on monthly rent after his divorce, admitted, "My assets are listed at 300 million to 500 million won, but the stocks I invested in are going in the opposite direction. I'm down 80%. I'm too busy paying rent," effectively sealing his Level 6 status.
Next came Kim Hyung-joon, whose looks and personality were flawless and who was considered a tentative Level 1, stirring up the audition room. Kim, who said he had lived in places including Seoul, Tokyo, and Jeju, confessed that he owns at least one home. Still, he said, "What I want to do in the Level 6 Club is help Sang-guk and make us all Level 1 together," even promising overseas team-building trips. Comedian Hong Kyung-joon, who runs a bakery, was also found to be in solid shape in every respect, including his finances. Even Kang Susie shook her head and said, "You should just go home."
Then came Seo Young-woo, who in his 30s overpowered the older members in their 70s and 80s with youthful energy, health, and financial standing. He was followed by the handsome actor Shim Jae-won, the youngest member, who met the Level 6 conditions by living in a rented place and having dropped out of college, but who also earns more than 200 million won a year. Yang Sang-guk exploded with jealousy, saying, "Jae-won is great personally, but I hope he doesn't come to the gatherings." Finally, comedian Seo Nam-yong, who is clearly a Level 7(?), appeared and received an overwhelming cheer. He became a member on the spot without even introducing himself.
In the end, all of the audition applicants passed. Together with the members, Yang Sang-guk finalized the club's official name as 'Six Can Do It' and bonded over a group dinner. Attention is now focused on the marriage pursuits of the 'Six Can Do It' members, each with their own story.
Meanwhile, to mark its fifth anniversary, 'Love of Joseon' will unveil a three-part special, 'Love of Joseon Singing Contest,' over the next three weeks starting Monday the 29th. The show will feature a star-studded judging panel that includes Kim Tae-won, Tae Jin-ah, Insuni, and Yang Soo-kyung, as well as powerhouse performers such as Hong Seok-cheon and Bae Ki-sung. In 'Love of Joseon Singing Contest,' cast members who have appeared on the show will form teams and take the stage. The winning team will receive a prize of 10 million won.
