[Sportschosun reporter Lee Woo-joo] Model Lee Hyun-yi's husband, Hong Seong-gi, is set to receive a bonus worth hundreds of millions of won.
On the 23rd, Hong Seong-gi shared an article on his account along with the caption, "Loyalty, loyalty."
The article said that Samsung Electronics' semiconductor division will pay a special management performance bonus of 50 percent even to employees who are on academic leave. The measure was introduced as a supplement after more workers began considering dropping out of their training programs midway to secure bonuses worth hundreds of millions of won. Hong Seong-gi, who attended a semiconductor graduate school, was also included and will receive the bonus.
Hong Seong-gi, a semiconductor engineer, was reportedly promoted to department head at Samsung Electronics in March last year, 17 years after joining the company. At the time, he was pursuing a master's degree in the Department of Semiconductor and Display Engineering at Sungkyunkwan University as part of the company's training program. Hong said, "I get a salary, and the company also covers my tuition."
Having recently graduated from graduate school at the end of this semester and received many congratulations, Hong Seong-gi is now being congratulated once again after becoming eligible for the bonus.
Meanwhile, model Lee Hyun-yi and Hong Seong-gi married in 2012 and have two sons. The couple drew attention and affection after sharing glimpses of their family life on SBS's "Same Bed, Different Dreams 2: You Are My Destiny."
