[Sportschosun Jung Yoo-na] YouTuber Park Wi sparked tension after suddenly showing signs of poor condition ahead of his wheelchair marathon challenge.
On the episode of SBS's Same Bed, Different Dreams 2: You Are My Destiny aired on the 23rd, Park Wi and his wife Song Ji-eun were shown taking on a 7-km wheelchair marathon.
Park Wi impressed viewers by showing everything from his own customized workout routine, which he has maintained since becoming paralyzed from the waist down, to a high-intensity regimen using special equipment.
In particular, ahead of the upcoming 7-km wheelchair marathon, Park Wi showed his determination by focusing on strength training. He even amazed viewers by effortlessly doing pull-ups, a difficult feat for anyone, while pushing past the physical limits caused by his paralysis. Song Ji-eun also added a sweet moment by hugging Park Wi as he stood up during exercise.
The scene then shifted to Park Wi and Song Ji-eun's 7-km wheelchair marathon challenge. The charity race drew more than 1,700 participants and aimed to raise 100 million won, with the couple expected to lead the pack.
Just before the start, however, Park Wi suddenly began to feel unwell. He complained of low blood pressure and dizziness. Song Ji-eun worried, saying, "I think my husband is having low blood pressure symptoms." To help ease his nerves, she massaged his shoulders and said, "What is happening now? I've never seen anything like this since I started living with you, oppa."
Park Wi soon gathered his strength again and set off with determination to finish the race. With help from Song Ji-eun and others, he cooled down at intervals and adjusted his pace, ultimately completing the 7-km wheelchair marathon.
Meanwhile, Song Ji-eun and Park Wi married in 2024. Park Wi was previously diagnosed with full-body paralysis after a fall, but through steady rehabilitation he has recovered to the point where he can now move his upper body. The couple currently runs the YouTube channel Wiracle together.
