[Sportschosun reporter Jo Min-jeong] Broadcaster Kim So-young shared her warm feelings after seeing the grown-up side of her elementary school-aged daughter, Sua.
On the 25th, Kim So-young posted a long message and several photos on her social networking service (SNS) account. She recalled the moment, saying, "A few days ago, Sua kept taking clothes on and off in front of the closet for a long time, so I scolded her a little harshly." She added, "After sending her off to school, I kept thinking about it."
In the end, Kim So-young left a handwritten note for her daughter first, and later said she received an unexpected reply after returning home from work. In the letter she shared, Sua neatly wrote, "Mom, I'm sorry," "I love you too, but I was a little scared of being scolded in the morning," and "Mom, I'm sorry. I love you," touching many readers.
Kim So-young said, "The child who used to look only for crowns, dresses, lace, ribbons, and sparkly shoes suddenly stood in front of the closet for a long time, trying to choose clothes that would draw the least attention from her friends." She continued, "Last week, she suddenly said, 'I'm going to cut my hair into a bob.' At that moment, I felt a little hurt." She honestly added, "For two years, I had been the one telling her to cut her hair, but when she finally said she would do it, I felt strangely emotional."
In the photos released with the post, Sua, now with a bob haircut, stood neatly with a bag over her shoulder while wearing a yellow striped dress. Her more mature look drew attention.
Kim So-young said, "When I saw her with the bob, she looked so cute that my heart healed." She added, "What the older sisters said about the princess phase being very short was true. Only now do I feel like I have truly become the mother of an elementary school student."
