[Sportschosun Reporter Jang Jong-ho] A shocking affair between a mother-in-law and her son-in-law has been uncovered in a family in Taiwan.
According to local media, including ETtoday, a man identified as A, who lives in Taoyuan, Taiwan, married in June 1994 and raised two children with his wife.
However, the two families fell apart after it was revealed that A's wife, B, had been involved in an inappropriate relationship with their son-in-law.
In particular, the daughter was reportedly deeply shocked after witnessing her biological mother and husband engaging in inappropriate behavior.
After the incident, B left home in December 2023 and cut off contact with her family before disappearing.
A tried to track down his wife's whereabouts, but he was never able to reach her. The couple then remained separated for more than two years.
In a complaint filed with the court, A argued that the marriage had effectively broken down, saying, "After my spouse abandoned the family and left, there was no apology or effort to repair the relationship." He asked the court to grant a divorce.
During the trial, B did not appear even after receiving the court's summons, and she reportedly submitted neither a statement nor any explanation.
A friend who testified as a witness also said the couple had effectively been living apart for a long time.
The judge accepted the husband's divorce request, stating, "Although there is a duty to live together, B failed to fulfill it without just cause and left the family after cutting off contact for a long period. Considering these factors, the marriage has already broken down beyond repair."
Local Netizens are posting critical reactions such as, "Is she really the biological mother?", "She can never come back," "What happened to the son-in-law?" and "Two families were destroyed because of desire."
