Recently, derma-cosmetic products, a blend of dermatology and cosmetic, have been drawing attention. In particular, consumers who carefully check full ingredient lists and clinical data are continuing to drive ingredient-focused purchasing.
In line with this trend, Dongkook Pharmaceutical has launched a beauty category zone called 'Pharmacy Beauty Solution' at about 200 pharmacies nationwide.
The space was designed so consumers can easily find and choose proven derma-cosmetic products at pharmacies. It features Dongkook Pharmaceutical's 'Ruoncell,' as well as 'Madeca Pharmacia,' a pharmacy-exclusive derma repair brand that applies 'TECA Plus Formula' combining Centella asiatica extract (TECA) and dexpanthenol in an optimal ratio. It also carries 'Panpesin,' a functional shampoo brand that helps relieve hair loss symptoms, and 'SensiSlim,' a medical-device-grade compression stocking. Visitors can also find products from 'Carenology95,' a premium derma-cosmetic brand developed by skin specialist Lee Mi-seok.
A Dongkook Pharmaceutical marketing official said, "Pharmacy Beauty Solution is a beauty category zone inside pharmacies where high-functionality beauty products from pharmaceutical companies and dermatology-based brands can be found in one place," adding, "We expect it to become an important purchasing touchpoint for consumers in their 50s and 60s, who are relatively less active in buying beauty products through drugstores and online channels."
