Ain Hospital Holds Pre-Registration Fingerprint Campaign to Prevent Child Disappearances During Vacation Season

Ain Hospital, operated by the Ain Medical Foundation chaired by Oh Ik-hwan, held a pre-registration fingerprint campaign with the Incheon Michuhol Police Station on the 18th to help prevent child disappearances ahead of the vacation season.

The pre-registration fingerprint system allows fingerprints, photos and guardian information of children under 18, dementia patients, and people with intellectual, autism spectrum or mental disabilities to be registered in advance in the National Police Agency system, helping authorities quickly identify missing persons if they disappear.

The campaign was carried out for children visiting Ain Hospital's pediatric and adolescent clinic, their guardians, and children enrolled at Ain Daycare Center, the hospital's workplace daycare center. The Michuhol Police Station highlighted the importance of pre-registration fingerprinting, which helps officers quickly locate missing people and return them to their guardians, and provided on-site registration support. It also ran a police uniform experience program for children and handed out balloons, drawing a strong response.

The hospital also plans to hold another pre-registration fingerprint campaign on the 25th and 26th, jointly with the Michuhol Public Health Center, targeting vulnerable groups such as elderly people with dementia and people with disabilities.

An Ain Hospital official said, "We are honored to take part in community activities that can protect not only children's health but also their safety," adding, "We will continue to work with local partner organizations to carry out a variety of social contribution activities that improve residents' safety and welfare."
