[Sportschosun reporter Jang Jong-ho] An Indian female influencer who gained fame by showing off bundles of cash and jewelry on social media has reportedly fallen victim to theft.

According to local media outlets including India Today, Indian influencer Rachna Gurjar recently claimed that intruders stole valuables from her home in the Shivpuri area of Madhya Pradesh.

Gurjar, who has about 100,000 followers, frequently posts videos online showing off gold necklaces, various pieces of jewelry, and stacks of cash.

She said the burglary took place late at night while her entire family was asleep.

Investigators said the suspects damaged the fence around the house before breaking in. They then locked the door to the room where the family was sleeping from the outside, searched the house, and fled with jewelry and cash.

Gurjar explained that she woke up around 4 a.m. and found it strange that the door would not open. She and her husband tried to force it open, but when they failed, they asked nearby relatives for help.

After getting out of the room with help from relatives, they found the house had been turned upside down and confirmed that gold and silver jewelry, cash, and even a box of energy drinks were missing. The damage is estimated at about 800,000 to 1 million rupees, or roughly 13 million to 16 million won.

Gurjar said, "The burglars locked us in the room and carried out the theft," adding, "It appears they also turned the CCTV camera away with a stick-like tool so that their faces would not be recorded."

Police, who are tracking the suspects, are not ruling out the possibility that the posts showing off valuables may have helped make her a target.
