[Sportschosun Jo Ji-young] Actor Ahn Jae-hong has become the new face of the Jecheon International Music & Film Festival.
The 22nd Jecheon International Music & Film Festival, led by executive chair Jang Hang-jun and featuring an expanded program with the launch of the International Competition section, has named Ahn Jae-hong as its official ambassador, Jimpace. Ahn will take part in a range of JIMFF promotional activities and is expected to meet audiences at the official press conference in August and at major events during the festival.
Each year, JIMFF selects an official ambassador who can represent the festival's spirit and identity. Ahn Jae-hong is an actor who has steadily won love from audiences of all generations with his distinctive human warmth and cheerful energy.
Ahn Jae-hong has built a broad filmography, showing his own individuality and presence across independent films, commercial films, dramas and OTT original series through works such as the films '1999, Face-to-Face,' 'Jokgu King,' 'C'est Si Bon,' 'The Great Wish,' 'Fabricated City,' 'On the Beach at Night Alone,' 'The King's Case Note,' 'Little Princess,' 'No Mercy,' 'Night in Paradise,' 'Rebound,' 'Hi-Five' and 'The King and the Clown,' as well as the dramas 'Reply 1988,' 'Fight for My Way,' 'Be Melodramatic,' 'Mask Girl,' 'LTNS' and 'Dakgangjeong.'
After gaining wide popularity for his role as Jeong-bong in 'Reply 1988,' Ahn Jae-hong won the Best Supporting Actor award at the 3rd Blue Dragon Series Awards for 'Mask Girl,' the TV Best Supporting Actor award at the 60th Baeksang Arts Awards, and the Best Supporting Actor award at the Asia Contents Awards & Global OTT Awards. He later received the Male Actor of the Year award in the series category at the 22nd Director's Cut Awards and an acting award at the 19th Seoul International Drama Awards (SDA), further cementing his acting credentials.
Jang Hang-jun, who worked with Ahn Jae-hong on the films 'Rebound' and 'The King and the Clown,' said, "I have long liked the human warmth in the characters Ahn Jae-hong has played." He added, "He is an actor who can make even ordinary characters special with his own unique color." Jang continued, "He has both approachability and broad public appeal, so I expect him to create great synergy with the Jecheon International Music & Film Festival."
Regarding his selection as the official ambassador for this year's JIMFF, Ahn Jae-hong said, "I have always received a great deal of comfort and inspiration through films and music." He added, "Together with Jang Hang-jun, whom everyone likes, I will do my best to support the Jecheon International Music & Film Festival, a festival I have long cared about."
The 22nd Jecheon International Music & Film Festival, which has named Ahn Jae-hong as its official ambassador, will be held in and around Jecheon, North Chungcheong Province, from September 3 to 8.
