[Sportschosun reporter An So-yoon] Actor Jin Seon-gyu said he wants to work with younger actors in his next project.
Jin met with Sportschosun at a cafe in Samcheong-dong, Jongno District, Seoul, on the 22nd and said, "If I get the chance later, I want to act alongside younger actors such as Lee Do-hyun and Park Ji-hoon."
Released on the 19th, the Netflix film "Husbands" is a comedy action movie about an unpredictable rescue mission by a former husband and a current husband who join forces by chance to save a wife kidnapped by a criminal organization. It was directed by Park Gyu-tae, who helmed "6/45." Jin plays Chungsik, the ex-husband of Sinyi and an ace in the narcotics unit.
Jin made a strong impression as a scene-stealer in the 2017 film "The Roundup" and went on to win the Best Supporting Actor Award at the 38th Blue Dragon Film Awards. He said, "I said in interviews before that rather than rowing when the tide comes in, I wanted to look at the map first. I still feel the same way. Acting is not something I do alone, so I need to widen my boat enough to bring my colleagues on board too. After 'The Roundup,' I took on everything from lead and supporting roles to special appearances, and that increased the number of projects I did. I want to keep building on those experiences, and when I feel I am ready myself, I want to row with full force."
He also named younger actors he would like to work with in a future project. Jin said, "My wife worked with Lee Do-hyun on 'The Good Bad Mother' before, and she praised him a lot for his attitude toward the work. Park Ji-hoon has also recently received a lot of love for 'The Crowned Clown,' and I felt he had great eyes even from 'Weak Hero Class 1.' Yoo Hae-jin also said that acting with this friend makes it easy to immerse yourself naturally. Now that I have become a senior actor, I found myself wanting to act with younger actors. Acting also has trends and currents, doesn't it? Rather than insisting on my own pattern and flow, I want to become a better actor by working with different generations."
