Nam Hyun-hee was cleared of violating the Kim Young-ran Act
Nam Hyun-hee, a former national fencing team coach who is suffering from being involved in the Jeon Cheong-jo scam, has been cleared of violating the anti-graft law (Kim Young-ran Act).

In October last year, a member of the Gangseo-gu Council in Seoul reported it to the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission on charges of violating the Kim Young-ran Act, saying, `Coach Nam Hyun-hee received expensive items from Jeon Cheong-jo earlier this year while serving as a director of the Korea Sports Council since April 2021, and the case was filed with the Songpa Police Station in January. After nine months of close investigation, the police decided not to send (not guilty) in early September.

On the 2nd, the intelligent crime investigation team of Songpa Police Station in Seoul sent a notice of the results of the investigation, which was decided not to be sent (not guilty). 'Non-return (not guilty)' is a decision made when it cannot be punished due to self-defense, etc., and it was considered that the goods received by director Nam in the relationship between Jeon Cheong-jo and his lover at the time were far from illegal solicitation or receipt of money and goods.

Sohn Soo-ho, CEO of Jipyeong Law Firm, who is in charge of Nam Hyun-hee's defense, said "As for the fact that the goods received by director Nam, who was in a relationship with Jeon Cheong-jo, violated the Kim Young-ran Act as a director of the Korea Sports Council, he actively explained why it was not a crime by setting a precedent similar to the relevant law.""I salute the police for making accurate legal judgments based solely on legal principles and evidence, even when public criticism against director Nam remains."" he said.
