RM of BTS donated KRW 100 million to veterans' funds through 'Everyone's Veterans Dream' on his birthday, September 12. The donation was made to support the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs' 'Employee Appreciation Campaign'. It will be used to provide respect and welfare support for people of national merit and bereaved families among uniformed personnel.
Through his agency, Big Hit Music, RM stated, “I deeply feel the dedication of many people to our country these days. I hope that this contribution will offer some assistance to those who have worked hard for peace. I also sincerely thank ARMY for their overflowing love and congratulations.”
RM has a history of charitable activities to mark his birthday. Last year, he supported the Korean Forensic Society to highlight the importance of nurturing experts. In 2021 and 2022, he donated to the Overseas Material and Cultural Heritage Foundation, contributing to the restoration and preservation of cultural heritage. Additionally, he has been an ambassador for the Ministry of National Defense's Hazard Discovery Group since 2023 and actively promotes the Hazard Discovery Project.
BTS, the group to which RM belongs, is also committed to charitable efforts. Since 2017, BTS and its agency, Big Hit Music, have been running the 'Love Myself' campaign, promoting self-love and working to eliminate violence. Their official fan club, ARMY, consistently supports vulnerable children and adolescents, contributing to a positive cycle of giving.
Meanwhile, the 'Uniform Workers Audit Campaign' aims to foster a culture of respect and appreciation for uniformed workers. This year's key message emphasizes supporting those who serve under the Korean flag and expressing gratitude for their contributions.
