Sunwoo Yong-yeo Says She Was Fooled by a Fake Monk and Lost All Her Valuables: "I Lost the Value of a House"

[Sportschosun Kim Joon-seok] Actress Sunwoo Yong-yeo has revealed a tumultuous story from the past, saying she was deceived by a fake monk and lost all of her precious jewelry, worth the price of a house.

On the 25th, a video titled "82-Year-Old Sunwoo Yong-yeo Had Her House-Price Worth of Jewelry Taken by a Monk" was uploaded to the YouTube channel Soonpoong Sunwoo Yongyeo.

In the video, Sunwoo Yong-yeo introduced the jewelry she had collected over her lifetime and recalled the painful scam she suffered in her 20s.

Sunwoo Yong-yeo said, "A fake monk came to my house and tempted me by saying that if I placed rice there, bad energy would disappear." She added, "I even brought him into the master bedroom and gave him a diamond, ruby, and emerald set worth the price of a house my husband bought me."

She explained the absurd situation at the time, saying, "After the prayer ended, he told me to sprinkle salt and leave, so I did as he said. But when I checked a few hours later, the envelope that had held the jewelry was full of rice instead."

She also drew sympathy by revealing that, more than the shock of losing the jewelry, she was even more hurt when her husband called her a fool, and she cried over it.

Fortunately, she later used her husband's connections to catch the culprit, but the jewelry had already been sold and could not be recovered.

These days, Sunwoo Yong-yeo cherishes accessories she bought for a drama role as a madam instead of flashy jewelry, finding small but meaningful happiness.

She shared a heartfelt message, saying, "What matters, whether something is real or fake, is your own confidence." She added, "More important than money is living a life that makes yourself a luxury brand," earning empathy from viewers.

Meanwhile, Sunwoo Yong-yeo, who continues to connect with fans with undiminished passion even at 82, once again reminded many viewers of the importance of wisely overcoming life's ups and downs.
