Kangwon Land said on the 14th that it has expanded long-stay tourism content to attract more foreign visitors. The move comes as the number of foreign visitors to Kangwon Land from January to May this year rose by about 40% from the same period last year.
According to Kangwon Land on the 14th, the company will host a Russian English camp and a beauty festa in July to draw more foreign tourists during the summer season. The Russian English camp will be held based on a business agreement signed in June last year between Kangwon Land and Doowon Shipping to promote mutual cooperation in attracting Russian tourists. More than 100 students and parents from Russia's Far East, including Vladivostok, Khabarovsk and Sakhalin, are scheduled to arrive early next month on a regular ferry between Vladivostok and Donghae Port and then head to High1 Resort. They will stay there for 11 nights and 12 days, taking part in English classes with foreign instructors as well as local sightseeing and cultural experience programs. Through this, Kangwon Land plans to build a foundation in the Russian inbound market in connection with the Donghae Port ferry route. From July 23 to 26, the High1 Beauty Festa will be held at High1 Grand Hotel. The event will also serve as the Korean preliminary round for the 21st 2026 High1 Resort Asia Model Festival, which will be held in November. It will feature a fashion show by senior representative models from China and Japan, as well as the Face of K-pop competition, where multinational dance crews will compete. Kangwon Land plans to further strengthen overseas local marketing in the second half of the year, starting with a full overhaul of its foreign-language website, while continuing cultural exchanges with Mongolia and France and attracting performance tourism from Singapore and Hong Kong.
Lee Min-ho, acting head of the Head of Tourism Marketing Division, Kangwon Land, said, "We will continue to develop long-stay tourism products and grow into a global integrated resort that represents South Korea."
