Ice Water Purifiers Gain Popularity Amid Early Heat Wave; CHUNGHO NAIS Sales Up 25% in May

Sales of ice water purifiers have risen amid the early heat wave. With the peak summer heat still ahead, demand for these appliances is expected to increase further.

According to CHUNGHO NAIS on the 22nd, sales of its ice water purifiers in May rose 25% from a year earlier. The increase was driven by countertop models such as The M and New iSTRE, as well as the large-capacity standing model Super iSTRE.

The M ice water purifier, launched in March, is one of the smallest models in Korea, measuring 19.5 cm in width and 43 cm in depth. It produces about 6.7 kg of ice a day, or up to 770 cubes. Users can choose from three ice sizes — 7 g, 9 g and 11 g — depending on their needs. Stainless steel has been applied to the parts that come into contact with the ice to improve hygiene.

The standing model Super iSTRE offers ice-making capacity of up to 18 kg per day and a storage capacity of 4 kg. With generous capacities of 15 liters of purified water, 5.8 liters of cold water and 3.8 liters of hot water, it can be used stably and efficiently in offices, public institutions and other places with heavy foot traffic.

A CHUNGHO NAIS official said, "As an unprecedented heat wave is forecast for this summer, more consumers are steadily preparing ice-related appliances," adding, "We will continue to lead the market with products and services that reflect CHUNGHO NAIS's differentiated value."
