Photo courtesy of KCC KCC Silicon is set to fully launch its offensive on the Chinese materials market by participating in 'APFE 2026 (Adhesive tape Protective Films & Optical Film Expo),' Asia's largest specialized exhibition for the tape and functional film industries. APFE, which has been held annually in Shanghai, China since its inception in 2007, is recognized as a leading global business platform that encompasses the entire spectrum of related industries, including adhesive tapes, functional films, coatings, and die-cutting, attracting companies and industry professionals from around the world.
KCC Silicon is participating in APFE for the second consecutive year, following last year. KCC Silicon plans to strengthen its competitiveness in the global PSA and RLC sectors and secure new customers by showcasing silicone materials for Pressure Sensitive Adhesives (PSAs) and Release Coatings (RLCs) at the exhibition, which will be held in Shanghai, China, from the 24th to the 26th.
Pressure Sensitive Adhesives, which are materials that bond with only manual pressure, are utilized in various industrial fields such as industrial tapes, protective films, labels, and medical patches. Release coatings (RLCs) are coating materials that prevent these adhesives from sticking to other surfaces during storage and use, allowing them to be easily detached when needed.
At this exhibition, KCC Silicone plans to showcase its differentiated technological capabilities and product competitiveness, focusing on bio-silicone adhesives, solvent-free silicone adhesives, fluorosilicone release coatings, and specialty release coatings. Bio-silicone adhesives are biocompatible products that minimize skin irritation.
Due to their excellent skin compatibility and stability, they are highly utilized in the medical and healthcare fields, such as for scar and wound protection bandages and patches. Solvent-free silicone adhesives are eco-friendly products that do not use BTX-based organic solvents (benzene, toluene, xylene), offering high utility in protective films and insulation tapes that require thick coating layers.
Fluorine silicone release coatings combine the heat resistance and flexibility of silicone with the excellent release properties of fluorine; maintaining stable quality even in high-temperature environments, they are expected to be utilized in various industrial adhesive material sectors. Specialty release coatings are next-generation silicone release coating solutions applicable to protective films for Optical Clear Adhesives (OCA) used in displays; maintaining stable quality even in environments exposed to ultraviolet rays for extended periods, they are suitable for the display material sector requiring high reliability.
Through this exhibition, KCC Silicon plans to expand the scope of customized solutions and accelerate the acquisition of new customers, while strengthening local technology marketing to further expand its presence in the Chinese adhesive and release material market.
