[Sportschosun, Jang Jong-ho] A close call occurred on the afternoon of the 26th when an aircraft struck a supertall building in Beijing, China.
According to Hong Kong media outlet HK01, a small aircraft believed to be a light plane hit China Zun, located in Beijing's central business district, that day. After the collision, part of the building's exterior was damaged, and debris reportedly fell to the ground. The footage has been spreading online.
The area where the accident occurred is a key business district in Beijing, packed with large office buildings and commercial facilities. Glass shards and metal fragments were scattered on roads near the scene, and multiple police officers were dispatched to secure the area and carry out cleanup work.
Witnesses said smoke rose from the upper part of the building immediately after the impact, and residents and visitors inside were evacuated in an emergency. The exact number of casualties has not yet been confirmed.
A man at the scene said, "It was like being reminded of the September 11 attacks in the United States," describing the shock at the time.
Meanwhile, China Zun is one of China's tallest landmarks, standing 528 meters high with more than 100 floors. It houses many financial institutions and major companies, and an observation facility is located on the upper levels.
