[Sportschosun, Jo Ji-young] Actor Choi Min-sik said, "I got a good meal out of Choi Hyun-wook, who said he would buy me dinner during the audition."
On the morning of the 24th, Netflix's series "The Boy at the End of the Line" (written by Jang Myung-woo, directed by Kim Gyu-tae) held its production press conference at Hotel Naru Seoul - MGallery in Mapo-gu, Seoul. Choi Min-sik, who plays Heo Moon-oh, a cantankerous Korean literature professor trapped in feelings of inferiority and defeat; Choi Hyun-wook, who plays Lee Kang, the mysterious student seated in the back row who shakes Heo Moon-oh's world; and director Kim Gyu-tae attended the event.
"The Boy at the End of the Line" previously held auditions to cast the character Lee Kang. Choi Min-sik reportedly took part in the auditions himself to choose the actor he would work with. Choi Min-sik, who said he was the only one to suggest having a meal with Choi Hyun-wook on the day of the audition after he beat out many competitors for the role of Lee Kang, laughed and said, "Actually, Choi Hyun-wook was the only person I could eat with." He added, "There were also stories that I cast Choi Hyun-wook, but that's nonsense. I was simply curious about him. I went to the audition room because I wanted to see his raw side. After discussing it with director Kim Gyu-tae and talking through various ideas, we decided on Choi Hyun-wook. That day, Choi Hyun-wook also said he would buy the meal. I got to eat something delicious. I think his agency paid for it," he joked.
