[Sportschosun Jo Ji-young] Stars who won honors at last year's Blue Dragon Series Awards will leave meaningful handprints.
The 5th Blue Dragon Series Awards will kick off its festival in earnest with a handprinting event at CGV Yongsan I'Park Mall on July 7.
Held ahead of the main ceremony, the event will bring together last year's winners who drove the success of K-content and officially record their achievements from the previous year.
A total of 10 winners will attend, including drama category winners Ju Ji-hoon, IU, Lee Kwang-soo, Yeom Hye-ran, Choo Young-woo, and Kim Min-ha, as well as variety category winners Kian84, Lee Soo-ji, Moon Sang-hoon, and Mimi.
First, Ju Ji-hoon, who played Baek Kang-hyuk, a gifted surgeon with a strong sense of duty in "Severe Trauma Center" and anchored the series with his commanding performance, will attend as the Best Actor winner. IU, who delivered a powerful dual role as Ae-sun and Geum-myeong in "When Life Gives You Tangerines," will also be there as the Best Actress winner.
Lee Kwang-soo, who heightened the dramatic tension in "Bad Relationship" by vividly portraying the inner turmoil of a man in glasses bound by a cruel fate, will join the handprinting event alongside Yeom Hye-ran, who brought warmth to the role of Gwang-rye in "When Life Gives You Tangerines" with her seasoned acting and added depth to the work as Best Supporting Actress.
Rising stars who drew attention by winning rookie awards at last year's ceremony will also attend. Choo Young-woo, who gained notice for his stable performance as Yang Jae-won, Baek Kang-hyuk's first disciple in "Severe Trauma Center," and Kim Min-ha, who richly portrayed the complex emotions of Hee-wan's bright teenage years and her emotionally lost twenties in "A Week Before I Die," will join the event and share once again the joy of their first Blue Dragon wins.
The key figures who lit up the variety category over the past year will also be present. Kian84, who proved his irreplaceable presence in the variety scene with his raw charm and sincere communication in "The Great Escape: Kian's Bizarre B&B," and Lee Soo-ji, who led trends through her unmatched character work and parody on seasons 6 and 7 of "Saturday Night Live Korea," will take part in the handprinting event.
Attention is also on the attendance of variety newcomers who brought fresh energy. Moon Sang-hoon, who showed a refreshing sense of variety through delicate role-play and witty banter in "Joo Gwan-sikdang," and Mimi, who made a strong impression with her quirky and unfiltered charm in "Kian's CEO," will also join the occasion and mark the moment of honor.
Meanwhile, the main ceremony of the 5th Blue Dragon Series Awards will be held at 8:30 p.m. on July 31 at Paradise City Incheon and will be broadcast live on KBS2.
