[Sportschosun, Jo Ji-young] Disney+ original series 'The Shopping Mall of the Killer Season 2' (written by Hojin Ji and Kwon Lee, directed by Kwon Lee) is drawing attention as it is expected to tell the story of Jeong Jin-man (Lee Dong-wook), the starting point that led to the idea for season 2.
'A Shop for Killers' depicted the night Jung Ji-an (Kim Hye-jun) was suddenly attacked by assassins after learning of her uncle Jeong Jin-man's death. Director Kwon Lee, who returns with season 2 after two years, is now drawing attention by revealing where the new project began.
Director Kwon Lee said, "After season 1 ended, I think viewers were most curious about where Jeong Jin-man had been that day. So season 2 began with the question of what Jin-man was doing that day," adding that he developed the story from the audience's point of view and hinting that the mystery will be resolved this season.
He also said, "We built the story around questions like, 'What reaction will Ji-an have when she hears the truth from Jin-man, who has returned alive? How will their relationship change?' and 'Where did Babylon, the core of the villains, come from, and what kind of place is it?'" He added that these questions would lead to Ji-an's awakening in season 2 and raise curiosity about the true nature of Babylon, which will soon be fully revealed.
In particular, he said, "If season 1 showed what kind of relationship Jin-man and Ji-an had, season 2, after all that buildup, will expand the universe further and unfold a story that keeps moving forward." He added that the inevitable showdown between Murthehelp and Babylon, along with even more intense action, will mark the start of a new chapter that is impossible to look away from.
In season 2, Ji-an, now the new head of Murthehelp, and Jin-man, determined to end his long-standing feud with Babylon, face an even larger enemy in a series of spectacular and tense events. The season will also showcase deeper changes in the existing characters, the fresh appeal of new faces, and upgraded realistic action and scale designed to captivate viewers.
'The Shopping Mall of the Killer Season 2' is a stylish action series in which Ji-an (Kim Hye-jun), now the new head of the shopping mall after a harsh handover, launches a full-scale counterattack with the returned Jin-man (Lee Dong-wook) against Babylon's global forces. The cast includes Lee Dong-wook, Kim Hye-jun, Jo Han-sun, Geum Hae-na, Kim Min, Jung Yoon-ha, Hyunri, Masaki Okada, and Lee Tae-young. The series was written by Hojin Ji, who also wrote the previous installment, and directed by Kwon Lee. It is set to be released on Disney+ in July.
