[Sportschosun Kim So-hee] A woman in her 30s who is suffering from acute hair loss opened up about the distress caused by her sudden symptoms, public misunderstanding, and her family's worries, drawing sympathy from viewers.
On the KBS Joy variety show Ask Anything, which aired on the 15th, a woman in her 30s who said she was struggling with hair loss in daily life appeared and shared her concerns with hosts Seo Jang-hoon and Lee Soo-geun.
She said, "It's just hair loss, but people around me keep mistaking me for someone who is sick, and that's frustrating," adding, "I feel myself shrinking even more because of those looks."
The hosts expressed curiosity about how the symptoms had started so suddenly. Seo Jang-hoon asked, "Why did the acute hair loss happen? Have you been to a hospital?" and she replied, "The hospital said it was probably caused by stress I experienced two or three months ago."
She added, "I'm not the type to get stressed out easily. I don't usually dwell on things, so I don't really understand it. I didn't eat anything bad, and there is no problem with my medication. My body is very healthy."
She then described the early stage of the symptoms, saying, "One day, my scalp became really itchy. I kept scratching while watching TV, and I even used a metal back scratcher. A few days later, I started feeling like my hair was falling out."
Seo Jang-hoon cautiously suggested, "Your scalp may have already been sensitive, and the irritation could have triggered a signal," but she offered a different explanation, saying, "I was told this was a warning sign."
She also said, "If it gets worse, it could lead to total hair loss. The scariest part is that even my eyebrows and eyelashes could fall out." Her words deepened the sense of concern.
She then showed her current condition and tried to smile, saying, "I used to have a lot of hair, so now I have a full head of baldness." But the fact that such a drastic change happened in just 10 days left viewers even more heartbroken.
She also spoke about her husband's reaction, which added to the emotional weight of the story. "I'm really fine and don't mind it, but my husband is taking it harder than I am. He says it should have been his hair falling out," she said. Seo Jang-hoon responded warmly, "That's because he loves you."
The woman's story left a lasting impression, as it captured both the rapid physical change she experienced in a short time and the emotional burden it placed on her family.
