[Sportschosun Jo Min-jeong] Kim Min-su of Psick University is drawing growing viewer fatigue after turning both his breakup announcement and his reconciliation news into content.
On the 15th, Psick University uploaded a video to its YouTube channel titled "We Decided to See Each Other Again."
In the video, Kim Min-su announced that he had gotten back together with his girlfriend, saying, "After a long conversation, we decided to get back together." He added, "Rather than excessive speculation and criticism, please watch over us with warm hearts," and said, "I will do my best to love her." He also said, "I am sorry to the public for the shock caused by the previous video."
The problem stems from a video posted just four days earlier. On the 11th, Kim Min-su had already revealed the breakup in a video titled "We Broke Up."
At the time, he joked, "I recently broke up with my girlfriend," and said, "I am uploading this video because I believe the public has a right to know." Viewers initially took it lightly, reacting with comments such as, "I will give up my right to know," "I did not even know you were dating," and "Is this content too?"
But the mood changed after a reconciliation video was uploaded just four days later. Some viewers responded, "Is this a series?" "It is neither funny nor moving," "I do not know why I should even watch this," "I unsubscribed," and "This kind of content is exhausting."
Others, however, viewed it more positively, saying, "At this point, is it not a meme?" "That is so Psick University," and "It is funny how they turn both breakups and reunions into content."
Still, online reactions have also included plenty of criticism, with comments such as, "I do not care, but they keep telling us," "They broke up, got back together, and posted it like breaking news," and "It feels like forced buzz-making."
Meanwhile, Psick University is a comedy channel run by Kim Min-su, Lee Yong-ju, and Jung Jae-hyung, and it currently has about 2.84 million subscribers.
