[Sportschosun Kim So-hee] Jun Hyun-moo of KBS2's "Boss in the Mirror" showed exceptional responsibility as he prepared to commentate on the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The 362nd episode of KBS2's variety show "Boss in the Mirror," which aired on Sunday the 21st, recorded a peak viewership rating of 4.4 percent and remained No. 1 in its time slot for 211 consecutive weeks, according to Nielsen Korea.
After deciding to join the World Cup commentary team, Jun Hyun-moo practiced whenever he had time with Lee Young-pyo and devoted himself fully to the preparation. He said he had never done sports commentary during his time as an announcer, and he struggled with football terminology and player names. Nam Hyun-jong, a junior announcer but a senior in sports broadcasting, encouraged him by saying, "You have no confidence, so your energy is too low. Then there is no reason to bring in a senior," and advised him to bring out his own charm. Han Seok-jun, Jun Hyun-moo's close friend who joined him in the studio that day, also cheered him on, saying, "I should be rooting for football, but I'm rooting for Jun Hyun-moo."
A few days later, Jun Hyun-moo arrived at KBS for his third commentary practice and drew attention with a noticeably slimmer appearance. When he complained about the pressure, saying, "I have never been this stressed in the past 10 years," Lee Young-pyo comforted him by replying, "Growth comes with pain," drawing laughter.
During the third practice, Jun Hyun-moo delivered smooth player calls and a more natural commentary style than before, earning a thumbs-up from Lee Young-pyo. He overcame the difficulty of memorizing player names through thorough study, proving his sincerity as a commentator. He also added a playful remark about Lee Kang-in, who made a surprise appearance with dyed hair for this World Cup, saying, "It's easy to recognize him while commentating, so thank you."
Meanwhile, music video director Yoon Seung-rim, who appeared as a new boss last week, drew attention by introducing her 14-month-old son, Kim Do-ho. Yoon, who had also gained attention as the first female video director to return to the field after giving birth, showed a deeply affectionate side as a devoted mother who melts in front of her son. She surprised everyone by saying, "When I was pregnant, I worked on ALLDAY PROJECT's 'Famous' music video, so my son was comforted by that song in the womb," and added, "I edited until the day I gave birth and then went to have the baby."
After starting the editing process for the music video, Director Yoon focused on nothing but editing for 40 straight hours, showing remarkable concentration. After completing the project with a total of 2,160 hours of work, she prepared a modest drink table with the assistant directors and shared her thoughts. She added warmth by expressing gratitude, saying, "I am truly thankful for your responsible attitude, and I hope you will not be afraid to keep experimenting in the future."
Last week, Lee Soon-sil went out to do market research for a warehouse-style store opening and even managed to arrange a meeting at headquarters. Having decided to compete with gochujang and doenjang, she gave her first-ever store-entry presentation in front of the staff. The staff also showed interest in the sauces made with ingredients such as whelk and deodeok, and they continued to express admiration while tasting dishes made with them. Lee said, "I am not afraid of competing with products from large corporations," showing strong confidence and drawing attention to the outcome of the store entry.
"Boss in the Mirror" airs every Sunday at 4:40 p.m. on KBS 2TV.
