[Sportschosun Kim So-hee] Actor So Ji-sub shared his candid thoughts on the much-talked-about difference in his appearance before and after a project.
On the 25th, the YouTube channel MMTG released a video titled, "Hello, I'm Yoon Kyung-ho. The thing is, I ended up appearing on MMTG with actors So Ji-sub and Choi Dae-hoon, and if I start by talking about what happened back then..."
In the video, the lead actors of SBS's new Friday-Saturday drama "Kim Bu-jang" — So Ji-sub, Yoon Kyung-ho and Choi Dae-hoon — appeared and showed off their lively sense of humor.
MC Jaejae asked So Ji-sub a playful question, saying, "Don't you have that 'before and after payment' magic?" She added, "At script readings before payment, you fully bring out your individuality, but once you start filming a drama, you appear neat and polished. Then when it's time for the next 'before payment' phase, you connect your beard and sideburns, and in the following project you show up clean-cut again. By the time of the wrap party, you go back to the path of darkness." Her remark sent the set into laughter.
So Ji-sub did not deny it either. He admitted, "At first, I didn't really care, but later those comments kept coming up, and I started finding it amusing myself."
He went on to say, "So I even tried to create a bigger gap," adding, "It's not like I do that every time, but when I look back at the photos now, I sometimes think, 'Did I really need to go that far?'" His honest comment drew laughter.
Meanwhile, SBS's new Friday-Saturday drama "Kim Bu-jang," which premieres on the 26th, is a revenge action series about an ordinary family man who transforms into the most dangerous being in the world in order to find his missing daughter. Based on the popular WEBTOON of the same name, the series has already drawn attention for how it will bring the original's intense action and weighty narrative to the screen.
