In observance of Patriots and Veterans Month, 7-Eleven is launching a campaign to promote the Republic of Korea Navy as part of its "Country Love Campaign."
The Country Love Campaign, which began in 2014 with a visit to a Marine Corps unit in Baengnyeong Island, has supported Naval Cruise Training for the past 10 years since 2015. This year, the company will continue its efforts to support the Navy Recruiting Center and encourage the sustainable development of the Republic of Korea Navy and its service members.
On the 26th, 7-Eleven held a donation ceremony at the Navy Recruiting Center under the Republic of Korea Navy Education and Training Command. The event was attended by key officials from both organizations, including Kim Dae-il, CEO of 7-Eleven; Kang Jeong-ho, Chief of Naval Education and Training; Jang Jong-bong, Operations Division 5 Manager at 7-Eleven; and Lee Choong-woo, chief of the Navy Recruiting Center. The donated items, worth 20 million won in total, consisted of food products such as snacks and beverages, and will be used for Navy recruitment and promotional activities.
7-Eleven will also support Navy recruitment promotion by using its nationwide offline store network. The company will broadcast a notice for "Navy noncommissioned officer recruitment" on the POS screens at more than 11,000 stores across the country.
Meanwhile, 7-Eleven has carried out a wide range of support activities for service members under the theme of patriotism. In addition to the Navy, it has also provided supplies to Infantry Divisions and the ROK Air Force. To date, it has recorded more than 50 sponsorships totaling about 570 million won. The company has also introduced the MPVA's public-private cooperation project, the "National Merit Discount Service," to support veterans' families and discharged soldiers. Veterans who complete verification through the "Veterans Market" app receive discounts of 10% on food items such as lunch boxes and sandwiches, and 5% on general merchandise.
Kim Mi-so, Senior Vice President of ESG at 7-Eleven's Communications Team, said, "Our Country Love Campaign is a signature social contribution activity with 13 years of tradition and continuity, and we have been providing sponsorship that offers practical help to service members' daily lives." She added, "We will continue to faithfully fulfill our social role by supporting our troops and communicating with them."
