이번 '2012 캐나다 올해의 차'에는 현대차 아반떼와 함께 현대차 엑센트, 기아차 K5(현지명 옵티마)가 최종 후보에 올라 현대·기아차 3개 모델이 나란히 경쟁을 펼치는 이색적인 광경이 펼쳐졌다.
