Jin Tae-hyun Says Fellow Celebrities Asked If He Spends Money on His Adopted Daughters: "I Don't Understand Financial Support"

[Sportschosun Lee Woo-joo] Actor Jin Tae-hyun talked about a shocking question he received from fellow entertainers.

On the 25th, a video titled "Park Si-eun and Jin Tae-hyun's Little TV's Faith Story, 'Why Do We Suffer Loss?'" was uploaded to the YouTube channel Park Si-eun and Jin Tae-hyun's Little TV.

The couple discussed a life of giving up personal gain. Jin Tae-hyun said, "Many people in the entertainment industry ask me, 'Do you spend money on the children who call you dad?' So I said, 'Isn't that obvious?' They call me dad, so of course I should. But they didn't understand. They think money should only be spent on biological children. They asked what I spend money on. They asked whether I pay their tuition and buy them food. I said I do everything, but they still didn't get it," recounting the absurd remarks he heard from fellow celebrities.

Park Si-eun said, "We just think of them as our children," and Jin Tae-hyun added, "A life of giving like that is a life of sacrifice. We give our time, our money and even our space. If they stay over at our house, we lose our freedom, don't we? Still, we enjoy it. It's the most joyful thing in our lives. Sharing and eating delicious food together. But they looked at us strangely. I was really shocked."

Jin Tae-hyun continued, "I understand why they think that way, because to them, that is normal. It is not seen as a plus. People save for their own lives. They are trying to give good advice. They say, 'After you get settled, help others with whatever money is left over.' But that goes against what it means to be a Christian. A Christian life is one in which we gladly give what we have and live together."

Meanwhile, Jin Tae-hyun and Park Si-eun married in 2015 and adopted a college-aged daughter they met while volunteering at an orphanage in 2019. Later, in January last year, the couple welcomed several foster daughters into their family, including a marathon runner and an aspiring nurse, though they were not legally adopted.
