Shim Jin-hwa's Kim Won-hyo Wins Pro Poker Tournament, Emerging as a New 'Comedian Card Shark' Following Jang Dong-min

[Sportschosun Reporter Park A-ram] Comedian Kim Won-hyo showed off his versatility after announcing that he had won a pro poker tournament.

On the 24th, Kim Won-hyo revealed on his personal account that he had won a pro poker competition.

In the photo he shared, Kim Won-hyo is seen holding a winner's panel for the '1st KPHF Club League Championship - Team Battle Duo' and posing for a commemorative photo. Comedian Byun Ki-soo, a senior from his KBS recruitment class, also drew attention by posing alongside him.

The Korea Professional Sports Hold'em Federation (KPHF) is an organization that promotes sports hold'em culture and runs related tournaments. As interest in sports hold'em has recently grown, comedian Jang Dong-min has been serving as a promotional ambassador. Kim Won-hyo has also previously shared glimpses of his daily life learning sports hold'em with broadcaster Hong Jin-ho, a former pro gamer.

Sharing his joy over the win, Kim Won-hyo wrote on his account, "I started out as a comedian. I have also tried acting. I have sung before. I run a business. I am currently active as a pro poker player. People ask me why I do so many different things. Look at this — if you keep at it, you can win. Even now, don't hesitate about what to do next. Just try it. If you try, something will come of it. #holdem #mind sports #Pimang #pfgt khpf"

Meanwhile, Kim Won-hyo entered the broadcasting industry in 2007 as a special recruit for KBS's 22nd class. He later won public affection by creating the catchphrase "No way~" in the 'Emergency Response Committee' segment of KBS2's 'Gag Concert.' He married comedian Shim Jin-hwa in 2011 and has continued to stay active not only in broadcasting but also as a businessman.
