[Sportschosun Jiyoung Cho] The crime film 'Pawoon' (working title), directed by Kim Sun-kyung and produced by Star Platinum, has wrapped filming and is now moving into full-scale preparations to meet audiences.

'Pawoon' has completed all of its shooting schedule and has wrapped production. From the very first day, the film signaled a tense atmosphere, and throughout filming the cast and crew worked scene by scene to complete the project with a high level of detail.

Byun Yo-han, who plays Park Ki-tae, a man who has taken on more difficult tasks than even blood relatives in the Kwon family, which places great importance on lineage, said, "Every moment on set was so intense when we were creating each scene. It felt like we were building every scene one by one with the director, the actors, and the crew under constant tension. So I am looking forward to every scene, and I hope all the effort we put in reaches audiences in many different emotions when the film is released."

Esom, who plays Kwon So-hyun, the eldest daughter of the Kwon family, said, "So-hyun was a character who had to hold the center of the story, and she had to keep her chemistry and emotions with the senior actors all the way to the end. So I don't think I could let my guard down for a single moment. I hope the hard work of our crew and actors is well conveyed to theater audiences."

Kim Jun-han, who plays Kwon Do-young, the eldest grandson and the center of the family, stated, "When each project ends, it is not always easy to feel that it is really over. But this one was especially intense, with all the staff and actors pouring their hearts into it. There were so many scenes that demanded that kind of effort every moment, so it suddenly feels like the work has ended. Still, I think we did our best to make a good film. Please look forward to it."

Kim Jong-su, who plays Kwon Byeong-ryeol, the younger brother of the family head, added that his feelings were mixed, saying, "As with every shoot, we work hard with high expectations and try to contribute to the overall quality. But there are also regrets, and there is also a sense of relief that we have finished another project. I think those emotions are all mixed together."

Director Kim Sun-kyung, who led the project, said, "I have been preparing this story for more than six years, and back then I did not think I would be able to finish the film. But now that principal photography is over, I finally feel the excitement that the movie is really being made. Thanks to the actors and crew, who worked so hard to complete it, I think the film has turned out well. I will do my best to finish post-production and keep going until the day we can meet audiences."

'Pawoon,' Kim Sun-kyung's first commercial feature film, closely examines the traditional patriarchal order and the power structure within a family, while vividly portraying the desires between each character. The rookie director wrote and directed the film, and director Byun Sung-hyun of 'Good News' and 'The Merciless' joined as a co-writer, further heightening the genre tension. Byun Yo-han, Esom, Kim Jun-han, and Kim Jong-su worked together to delicately portray the tension and fractures between the characters, while Sho Kasamatsu, who became known to Korean audiences through 'Good News' and 'Taxi Driver 3,' joined the cast as Sendo after taking the lead in the Korean film 'Shaving,' adding a powerful presence.

'Pawoon' tells the story of a family in the Ye-dong Kwon clan that has carried out dangerous illegal businesses for generations, and of the uncontrollable turmoil that erupts over the succession after the death of the family heir. The film stars Byun Yo-han, Esom, Kim Jun-han, and Kim Jong-su, and marks Kim Sun-kyung's directorial debut. It is scheduled for release in 2027.
