유키스 출신 일라이, 결혼 6년 만에 지연수와 이혼 "父로서 최선 다할 것" [전문]

[스포츠조선 조윤선 기자] 유키스 출신 일라이와 레이싱모델 출신 지연수가 결혼 6년 만에 이혼했다.

일라이는 26일 자신의 인스타그램에 "아내와 나는 이혼하기로 결정했다"며 장문의 글을 올렸다.

일라이는 "나는 현재 미국에 있고, 아들 마이클은 엄마와 한국에서 살고 있다. 비록 지금은 아들을 볼 수 없지만, 나는 가능한 한 아들을 보러 갈 것이고, 아버지로서 최선을 다할 것"이라고 밝혔다.

이어 "미래가 어떻게 될지 모르겠지만, 아들과 엄마가 행복하길 바란다"며 "지난 몇 년간 응원해주신 분들께 진심으로 감사드리고, 죄송하다"고 전했다.

일라이는 11세 나이 차이를 극복하고 지연수와 결혼해 화제를 모았다. 두 사람은 2014년 6월 혼인신고를 했고, 2017년 6월 결혼식과 함께 아들의 돌잔치를 함께했다.

Hey everyone. 2020 has been a rough year for all of us. I have some news I would like to share with all of you... My wife and I have decided to separate. I am currently in the US and Michael is living with his mom in Korea.

Though I am unable to see Michael at the moment I will go to see him whenever I can and try my hardest to be the father figure that he needs.

I don't know what the future has in store but I pray that Michael and his mom will be happy. We are truly grateful for all of your support over the years and I apologize that things ended this way.
